Extra care supported accommodation combines retirement housing with care and support. People living in extra care housing enjoy the freedom and independence of having their own front door, along with the peace of mind of knowing that care staff are available when they are needed.

Support assists you with such things as shopping, going for walks, attending appointments and engaging in activities. Care can include help with washing, getting dressed, preparing meals, managing your medications and using the toilet, as well as domestic assistance. Both care and support can be purchased from Hill Homes Care Ltd.
When you rent an apartment at Trees, you pay core care and support charges. This ensures there are staff available 24/7 in the event of an emergency providing you with peace of mind and to offer advice when you need that little bit of extra support. The core charge also enables us to provide a varied activities programme, designed to incorporate something for everyone. Our housing team are also available in office hours to help you with any housing needs you may have, such as sorting out council tax or putting up a picture on the wall in your apartment.
However, our tenants here have additional care and support needs and so Hill Homes Care Ltd was set up to provide this in-house. Additional care and support hours can be purchased from Hill Homes Care Ltd and funded by either a Local Authority Personal Budget or your own finances, depending on your circumstances.
Our tenants at Nuffield Lodge, a sheltered housing scheme, have fewer care needs but are still able to purchase care hours from Hill Homes Care Ltd should they wish.

Care Quality Commission
The Care Quality Commission is England’s independent regulator of health and social care – working on behalf of the public to protect everyone using care services. That means registering and overseeing care providers, listening to what users have to say and acting on what they say to improve their lives. It’s all about making sure people receive safe, effective, compassionate care.
At Hill Homes, we share the Care Quality Commission’s values and in everything we do we strive to meet and even exceed the rigorous standards they set for us. That’s not just because it’s our legal and professional responsibility; it’s because for everyone in our team, making life enjoyable and fulfilling for our tenants isn’t a duty – it’s an overriding passion!
